Manchester United to build a new stadium.

According to reports from Manchester, British billionaire Sir. Jim Ratcliffe and his team have opted for building a new 100,000 seater stadium, after The Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force, which was sat on by some former Manchester United players like Gary Neville had concluded that building a new stadium would be a more transformative option than renovating the existing one.

Building a new stadium would cost around £2billion and span for over six years while a renovation would cost half the amount.

Ratcliffe, 71, had acquired a partial ownership of Manchester United early this year, after his bid as accepted by the infamous part owners The Glazer family, who had announced that they were exploring all strategic options for the club, including a full sale, which attracted a failed bid from Qatari royal Sheikh Jassim.

After it was announced that INEOS had won the bid to acquire 25% of shares at Old Trafford, the founder of petrochemical firm INEOS promised to return the club to the very top of world football with both on and off the pitch changes and so far so good, there has been a complete overhaul of the leadership structure at the club, while transfer business has been handled in a manner likely to suggest that there is indeed, a new sheriff in town.

One of the key promises he made, was to either renovate United’s iconic stadium, or to build a new one but now the decision has been made and the red devils will wait for six years to get a new home, within the vicinity of the current stadium. Further reports indicate that decision makers at the club will base their architecture on the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, U.S.A.

This announcement comes in the backdrop of the successful signings of Joshua Zirkzee andFrench prodigy Leny Yoro, who was earlier rumored to strongly prefer a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
